Bogor’s Bermuda Triangle

Hello Java Lovers!, friends and travelers from all over the world, nice to meet you all, I’m Edu from Java Private Tour, who will try to talk about the land of Java, which is often the subject of conversation among climbers, pilots and communities around Jakarta, Bogor, Sukabumi and Cianjur, this story had never before been heard or known by other countries, but the Java Private Tour will write it, according to the vision and mission of the Java Private Tour is to make Java better known internationally from all sides.

In Indonesia, especially the communities around Jakarta, Bogor, Sukabumi, Cianjur and West Java areas must have heard stories outside the logic of the Triangle area between three mountains, Gede Mountain, Halimun Mountain, and Salak Mountain.

If the world community is so familiar with the mystery of the Bermuda Triangle that has claimed many lives, in Indonesia, especially the people of West Java are already familiar with stories outside of logic in the Gede Mountain, Halimun Mountain, Salak Mountain Triangle region.

Since 1966, in this region of the ‘devil triangle’, there have often been mysterious accidents, starting in 1966 1 helicopter carrying the Admiral RE Martadinata fell, then in June 2008, the Air Force Casa 212 aircraft crashed on Mount Salak at an altitude of 4,200 feet above sea level, and all passengers died, the most astonishing thing was that on May 9 2012 the Sukhoi Super Jet 100 aircraft crashed into a mountain body until it was smashed to pieces in Cipelang Village, Cijeruk District, and all passengers were killed.

Because of the many mysterious accidents that occur in the Triangle area of Mount Gede, Mount Halimun, Mount Salak, it makes people speculate and assume, it is said, these mountains storing magnetic anomalies, magnetic straws similar to the same as in the Bermuda Triangle.

This huge magnetic anomaly makes the aircraft compass signal not functioning properly, it can even make the plane fail when sending an emergency signal, and the radar can die instantly when passing through the three mountains.

The natives also linked the magnetic anomaly to the legend circulating on the mountain, told that the war Bubat warriors, was a war that took place in 1279 Saka or 1357 AD in the 14th century, during the reign of Majapahit king Hayam Wuruk.

The war was the result of a fight between Mahapatih Gajah Mada from the Majapahit kingdom and Prabu Maharaja Linggabuana from the Sundanese kingdom which resulted in the death of all Sundanese soldiers, sundanese soldiers fled and hid in Mount Salak, and the rest of the Siliwangi royal troops fled and hid in Mount Halimun. After that, the mountains become haunted places that hold a lot of mysteries. Including the mystery of the fall of many aircraft there.

Expert Staff of the Minister of Research and Technology in the Defense and Security Sector, Hari Purwanto, once stated in 2012, that flights through the Mount Salak area should not be at an altitude of six thousand feet, because the height of the mountain itself is around 2,200 meters with the condition of thick clouds that always cover the mountains.

According to him, there are three factors causing the fall of an aircraft, namely weather factors, human error factors, and aircraft eligibility factors, and he also reminded, that Halim Perdanakusuma Airport flights to Queen Harbour (Pelabuhan Ratu) via Gunung Salak, is not a safe flight path and not an area that is safe for flight activity, moreover, for pilots who don’t know the terrain.
